Kokterek Mining is an independent production enterprise within Kazakhstan's uranium sector. The company owns and operates its own wellfield and processing assets and does not extract or process material on behalf of third parties.
Production commenced in 2011 with the development of the company's first wellfield block. Kokterek Mining's operations have expanded incrementally since, in line with the company's own resource development programme. Further detail is available on the Operations page.
Kokterek Mining holds a subsoil use licence for uranium extraction issued under the Republic of Kazakhstan's Law on Subsoil and Subsoil Use, and operates under the regulatory oversight of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Atomic Energy. The company's extraction and processing activities are subject to periodic inspection consistent with national radiation safety and environmental standards.
